Community Garden
We need volunteers to plant and tend our eight plots for Placer Food Bank.
We now have a beautiful sign for the garden.
Come visit our garden and meditation labyrinth. The church campus is open to all.Sierra Christian Church is home to the 25-plot Holy Ground Community Garden. It is an organic garden with both in-ground and raised-bed plots available for an annual use fee of $30 per plot. Four of the in-ground plots are planted and tended by volunteers for beneficiaries of Placer Food Bank. In 2012, these plots yielded 200 lbs of fresh produce all of which was donated. Recently, the church received a $1000 grant from South Sacramento Fresh Food Access Fund of the Sacramento Region Community Foundation. The grant award will be used to add four additional in-ground garden plots planted for the Placer Food Bank. The new plots are under construction and will be ready for the spring planting season.
